Ice Tycoon 2 Maze
The maze under the Castle Mountain well is the route to Gem 5 — and the one gem route on this site that doesn't come with a fixed layout, because nobody's published one yet. This page covers what's actually confirmed: how to get in, what to expect, and how to avoid losing a whole session to it.
Getting to the maze
The entrance is the well on Castle Mountain, the castle-like landmark you can see from mid-game onward. Walk up to the well and jump in — you fall straight down into the maze, no key, badge, or separate unlock needed to get in.
Getting to Castle Mountain is the part more likely to slow you down. Community guides recommend having Bucket or Canteen water capacity and at least one Heat Crystal Lvl 2+ from the Shopkeeper before you head that way, since cold zones along the route can block your path without Frozen Magma or a high-tier Heat Crystal to melt through. Treat that as reported prep rather than a hard-confirmed requirement — but there's no upside to arriving under-equipped and finding out the hard way.
What's inside — and why there's no map
Two independent guides we cross-checked describe the same shape: you drop into a hidden maze, work through it, and the exit always leads to a short parkour section and then the room holding Gem 5. Both sources say the same thing about the layout itself — it isn't documented turn-by-turn anywhere yet. This site's own gems checklist has carried the same one-line note on Gem 5 for that reason: the route is real and confirmed, the map inside it isn't.
Practically, that means dead ends are normal on your first pass, not a sign you're doing something wrong. One of the guides we checked put it plainly: this is the gem "most likely to punish rushing." Slow down, and expect to backtrack at least once.
Tips for not losing a session to it
| What to do | Why |
|---|---|
| Keep mental notes of turns as you go | Both guides we checked call this out directly — there's no map to lean on, so your own memory of the route is the only one you get. |
| Go in prepared, not mid-run | Bucket/Canteen capacity and a Heat Crystal Lvl 2+ before you leave for Castle Mountain, so a cold zone doesn't strand you partway there. |
| Save it for last among the 5 gems | Castle Mountain is the farthest gem location from the starter factory, and the maze itself takes longer than any of the other four routes to feel out. |
| Don't rush the parkour at the exit | It's short, but it's the last step before Gem 5 — falling here after clearing the maze is the most avoidable way to lose time on this gem. |
How this page fits with the gems checklist
The gems page tracks all 5 gem locations at once, including Gem 5's route in a single line: well, maze, parkour. This page exists because that one line is all the space a checklist has room for — if you're specifically stuck inside the maze itself, this is the deeper version. Ticking Gem 5 off still happens on the gems checklist, not here; this page has no tracker of its own.

Maze questions
Where is the maze in Ice Tycoon 2?
Underneath the well on Castle Mountain, the landmark visible from mid-game. Jump into the well and you fall straight into it — there's no separate entrance to search for.
Is there a map of the Ice Tycoon 2 maze?
Not a published one. Two independent guides we checked both describe the same well-to-parkour-to-Gem-5 route, but neither one includes a turn-by-turn layout, and both say community documentation of the maze itself is still incomplete. Anyone showing you a definitive map image is filling in gaps that haven't actually been mapped yet.
What do I need before attempting it?
Community guides recommend Bucket or Canteen water capacity plus at least one Heat Crystal Lvl 2+ before heading to Castle Mountain, since cold zones on the way can block the path without Frozen Magma or a high-tier Heat Crystal. This is reported prep, not confirmed as a hard requirement — go in over-prepared rather than find out mid-run.
What is the maze actually for?
It's the route to Gem 5, the last of the 5 gems tracked on this site's gems checklist. There's no separate reward for the maze itself — the parkour section at the exit leads straight to the Gem 5 room.
Should I save the maze for last?
Most guides treat it that way, and it lines up with the two things that make it the slowest gem to grab: Castle Mountain sits far from the starter factory, and the maze itself takes longer to feel out than any of the other four gem routes.

Go to the gems checklistHow we compiled this: the well entrance, the maze-to-parkour-to-Gem-5 shape, and the recommended prep gear come from cross-checking two independent community guides against each other and against this site's own gems checklist. Both source guides say plainly that the maze's internal layout isn't documented yet — this page doesn't invent one either. None of this is first-party from Slized Games; we'll add a real layout section if and when the community actually maps one.
