All 5 Ice Tycoon 2 Gems
Each gem is a permanent +5% income boost once you insert it into the wall slot near the factory. Tick them off below as you collect them — your progress and income tally save in this browser.
Community-reported routes — verify in-game as you go, we haven't first-party tested every step ourselves.
The Gem Upgrader
Slot in all 5 gems and you unlock the Gem Upgrader, a separate multiplier on top of the flat +25% the gems already give you individually. It's worth prioritizing gems before you push for extra trophies or rebirths — the boost is permanent and compounds with every rebirth after it, same as the rebirth math works.
Secrets work the same way as gems, hidden across the map, each a permanent stacking ~+5%. They never expire either, so any secret you stumble into while hunting gems is free value.
Where each gem sits, and what each route involves
The checklist gives the route for every gem. This is a read across all 5 of them: which area each one is in, and what its published route actually asks you to do. A route describing no requirement is not the same as there being none, so this section sticks to what the routes state.
Gem 1, Yellow, in the Hotel
Fourth floor, left-side room. This is the only one of the 5 routes that continues past the pickup: the item it hands you makes the lava briefly safe, and the route points you at the main lava pit where ice sells as the next step. The route lists no step before reaching the room, though it does not say whether the hotel itself has to be opened up first.
Gem 2, Green, in the Mine
Furthest back-left corner of the tunnel. The obstacle the route names is a destructible rather than a jump: a secret rock blocks the corner, breaking it opens a hidden pit, and the fall drops you into the room holding the gem.
Gem 3, Blue, in the Abandoned Factory
Inside the factory's secret area, the rainy one. The route says to turn left immediately and complete the wall parkour to reach the room. Wall parkour is the only obstacle it names.
Gem 4, Red, opposite the Hotel
This is the only one of the 5 routes that names a prerequisite. You need level 3 in the Hotel minigame before a key spawns on the hotel roof, and that key unlocks the building directly opposite, which leads to a basement and a short parkour. It is the one step across all 5 routes that depends on progress rather than on finding a place, which is the reason it is worth starting before you need it.
Gem 5, Purple, under Castle Mountain
Jump into the well, fall, work through the hidden maze, then a short parkour at the end. The maze step is the one part of these routes this site says it cannot draw for you: the Castle Mountain well maze breakdown states plainly that no fixed layout has been published yet, so it is worth reading before you drop in rather than after.
What the routes do and do not tell you about order
Exactly one route names a prerequisite, the minigame level for Gem 4, so that is the one worth starting early whichever order you choose. At the other end, the maze page recommends saving Gem 5 for last of the 5. In between, the remaining routes describe a place and an obstacle and stop there. That is not evidence they are unlocked from the start, only that their routes do not say, so the middle of the order is yours to pick rather than something this page can rank for you honestly.
Two things worth knowing before you commit a session to this. Gems are permanent and survive a reset, the same thing this site states on its rebirth calculator, so none of this work is lost when you reset. And the hidden secrets tracked separately are a different collection with its own count, so a secret you stumble into while gem hunting does not move you closer to the Gem Upgrader, though it does stack its own boost. If you are chasing completion rather than income, the badge and trophy checklist tracks what the gems feed into.
Source: the 5 routes published on this page, reconstructed from public community sources rather than first-party testing. They describe where each gem is and the obstacles they name, and they do not claim to list every unlock requirement. They may be incomplete or wrong, and areas can change with updates.

Gem questions
What do gems actually do?
Each gem you insert into the wall slot near the factory gives a permanent +5% income boost. Collect all 5 and you unlock the Gem Upgrader for a bigger multiplier on top.
Do gems reset when I rebirth?
No. Gems are permanent, same as secrets. Only trophies reset on rebirth (unless a Laboratory upgrade preserves them).
Are these gem routes first-party verified?
They're community-reported — pieced together from player routes rather than something we personally tested step-by-step in every case. Treat them as a strong starting point and verify in-game as you go; we'll tighten the wording further as more runs confirm the exact paths.
Is the checklist saved if I close the tab?
Yes, your ticks are saved in this browser's local storage. It won't sync across devices, but it'll be here next time you're back on this browser.
What's the maze for Gem 5 actually like?
It's under the well on Castle Mountain — drop in, work through the maze, and the exit leads to a short parkour section and the Gem 5 room. No community source has published a fixed layout yet, so expect dead ends on your first pass. The full breakdown, including recommended prep gear, is on the dedicated maze page.
Where are all the gem locations in Ice Tycoon 2?
The 5 gems sit in 5 different areas: the Hotel fourth floor, the back-left corner of the Mine tunnel, the Abandoned Factory secret area, the building opposite the Hotel, and under the well on Castle Mountain. The checklist has the full route for each one, and the section below reads across all 5 to show what each route actually asks of you, including the single route that names a prerequisite.
Do the secrets count towards the 5 gems?
No, they are two separate collections. The gems go into the wall slot near the factory, and slotting all 5 is what unlocks the Gem Upgrader. The secrets are a different set of hidden pickups with their own tracker page, each carrying its own permanent boost on top of what the gems give you. Finding a secret while gem hunting does not move your gem count.
Do I need all 5 gems before my first rebirth?
No. The beginner guide on this site answers this directly: rebirth needs 100% completion and the 3 trophies, not the gems. Gems are also permanent and survive the reset, so one collected after a rebirth is worth exactly the same as one collected before it. The reason to grab the ones you pass early is the +5% each, which then compounds into every rebirth you take afterwards.
